Imagineear sends in the cavalry with interactive audioguide

Supplier: Imagineear

More Imagineear details
Imagineear has developed an interactive audioguide for the oldest and most senior regiment of the British Army, the Household Cavalry museum, set to re-open in April 2014 following redevelopment.

Imagineear created a touchscreen guide using its personal multimedia MPtouch tablet, which visitors collect from reception to guide them on a journey through the operational and ceremonial activities of the regiment.

Listening to the guide with headphones provided by Imageinear, visitors interact with the screen to explore the history of the regiment since its formation under Charles II, understand the importance of the ceremonial activity alongside operational campaigns, and listen to compelling first-hand accounts of modern warfare.

At 23 points throughout the museum, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the stories of the objects they are looking at.

They can look at a camel saddle while watching original footage of the Household Cavalry riding camels during the early 20th century. They can listen to a first-hand account of the 1982 Hyde Park bombing in front of the helmet of Trooper Simon Tipper, who was killed in the attack.

While studying the tiny piece of paper it was written on, guests can listen to the Riot Act read to them, as it was by the Household Cavalry. The guide prioritises the exciting stories that make up the Household Cavalry’s heritage and is guide available in multiple languages.
