A rendering of Zombie Coaster, which can reach speeds of up to 100km per hour
Mexican theme park Bosque Mágico Coca Cola has selected Premier Rides to design and build a magnetically-launched rollercoaster.
Zombie Coaster will be opened in 2015 as part of the park’s 20th anniversary celebration. It will be the first magnetically-launched coaster in Mexico and will feature the highest inversion in Latin America.
Jim Seay, president of Premier Rides said Latin America had several emerging markets and was experiencing “tremendous growth” in the entertainment arena. “There is a growing demand for more thrilling and diverse entertainment options,” he said.
The coaster can magnetically-propel riders forwards and backwards multiple times and uses an innovative, high-speed station switch system and multiple trains that are capable of multi-directional movement. It can reach speeds of up to 100km per hour (62.1mph).
Bosque Mágico is located in Monterrey, in northern Mexico, and was opened in 1995.
