Lightlink creates ambient range with fibre optics

Supplier: Lightlink Lighting

The Triangulation LightFrame is 32 inches by half an inch deep
Architectural and art lighting creator Mike Brannon of Texas-based Lightlink Lighting has developed a new fibre optic range.

The Triangulation LightFrame Series is a fibre optic-powered art lighting suspension with an equilateral triangular shape and lightness of structure suspended by ultra fine chromium strings, designed to enhance the ambiance of an environment.

The eco-friendly art lighting, described as ‘zen industrial’ in style fuses industrial components and natural fibres into ambient illuminated sculptures.

The textured, interactive lighting is suitable for contemporary settings, including Spas, resorts, hotels, lobbies, atriums, bars, and restaurants.

Brannon says of his work: “The pieces have echoes of Zen, Asian and industrial design through a particularly organic design sense coupled with the use of such diverse materials and techniques as dichroic and negative space mirroring, touch dimming, fluorescent acrylics, perforated metals, bamboo veneers, reclaimed hardwoods and hand-made art papers.”

He adds that all materials used have high recycled content, as much as 90 per cent of hardwoods are reclaimed, the bamboo is sustainable, only eco-resin is used and almost all metals used are also from reclaimed or recycled sources.

The Lightlink Lighting collection - described as 'Zen/Industrial', 'Illuminated sculpture' or 'Euro-Texan art lighting' - was inspired by Mike's passion for light and an interest in how it can be manipulated to create a uniquely pleasing ambience while maintaining Green values and sustainability throughout design and implementation.
