Dollywood extends its queuing system contract with Lo-Q

Supplier: Lo-Q plc

More Lo-Q plc details
Lo-Q, which provides virtual queuing systems for theme parks and major attractions, has signed a three year extension to its existing contract with Dollywood of Tennessee.

The park is Tennessee’s largest tourist attraction - with more than 2.5 million visitors in 2010 - and the agreement will see Lo-Q continue to provide its virtual queuing system.

Dollywood has used the system since September 2006 and the contract also covers technical assistance and support as well as software updates and maintenance.

The park is owned by Dolly Parton and operated by Herchend Family Entertainment Group, which manages a further 25 family entertainment parks across ten states in the US.

Lo-Q systems allow members of the public to make ride and show reservations when they visit a theme park or other attraction.

The company also owns a Q-txt product through which mobile phone users can reserve their place in a queue. Users purchase credits that are used to reserve a time to ride. The user then receives a text with details of their reservation, time and a unique code which is used to gain entry and verify their booking.
