The Pacific Rim-based attraction was developed by Legacy Entertainment for Trans Studio Cibuburin
Legendary Entertainment has partnered with Trans Studio Cibubur to create Pacific Rim: Shatterdome Strike, an immersive theatre dark ride experience for the hotly-anticipated Trans Studio Cibubur theme park in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The dark ride, billed as a 'next generation' dark ride experience, is believed to be one of first in the world to combine a 3D film experience with elements of live theatre as well as immersive environments and motion-based ride technology.

With an approximate running time of 20 minutes, the ride will take guests on a thrilling adventure through four specific zones in the Pacific Rim universe. Riders will come face-to-face with three deadly Kaiju - a term from Japanese cinema describing gigantic monsters known for attacking major cities - each with their own unique powers.

The ride will begin at the launch ceremony of Storm Garuda, the Pan Pacific Defense Corp's (PPDC) Mark VII Jaeger, a giant humanoid weapon used to fight the Kaiju. Guests will be able to experience the thrill of piloting the Storm Garuda, through the combination of 3D film sequences, practical effects and state-of-the-art ride vehicle technology.

Designed by Legacy Entertainment's creative team, led by Taylor Jeffs, Chris Moschella and writer/creative director Lee Roe, the ride is designed to add to the Pacific Rim universe with the addition of new Jaegers and Kaiju. To ensure that the new story, technology and creature elements were canonically correct both Trans Studio and Legacy worked closely with Legendary Entertainment.

While Legacy were responsible for the concept, production and overall design of the attraction, media production company Lay-Carnagey Entertainment (LCE) developed the media components, which were directed by LCE principal Roger Lay Jr.

Legacy’s Eric Carnagey, who acted as executive producer on the project, said: "Trans Studio challenged us to create a dark ride experience unlike any other. The result is one of the most unique theme park experiences in the industry today. No matter what park guests have seen before, they'll be shocked by what we have in store for them at Pacific Rim: Shatterdome Strike."

Drew Von Bergen, manager of Franchise Management at Legendary Entertainment, said: "We are delighted to collaborate with Trans Studio on the world's first 'Pacific Rim' dark ride. Their commitment to both creative ambition and quality of execution has made for an experience that we believe will thrill and delight parkgoers.
